Hi! If you’re pregnant
or have just
WELCOMED YOUR BABY congratulations!

I know from experience how absolutely life changing this moment in time is for you. I also know from experience how overwhelming it can feel, and so if you’re looking for support in any aspect of pregnancy or newborn life, you’re in the right place…

I’m Eve, I live in Sheffield with my husband, son, daughter & cat Audrey, having moved here in 2017 when my eldest was just four weeks old. When we arrived I was in the midst of postnatal depression, struggling with breastfeeding and life as a new parent, and in desperate need of a community.

Thankfully, I discovered some amazing parents at a local baby group, and I began building friendships which made all the difference. As the proverb says; “it takes a village”, and I believe this wisdom holds true. But as modern life means that new parents are often without their village no wonder things can feel so tough!

After finding my own village, things got SO much easier, and I am driven by the ambition to provide that village to new parents by building it within my community. I’ve since become friends with a beautiful host of other local doulas, and it is so special to be able to share our passion and support each other as we support new parents!

I was drawn to birth work after experiencing two VERY different births.

My first birth was traumatic - a cascade of interventions that resulted in PTSD, a tough recovery, trouble breastfeeding and difficulty coping during the 4th trimester.

When I fell pregnant again I felt like I was literally facing my fear. I decided that I would do all I could to try and ensure that my second birth was positive and empowering.

I did not one, but TWO hypnobirthing courses (one online, one face to face), read books and practiced my breathing techniques.

But most importantly, this time around I had the support of a pocket doula (a doula who supported me long-distance via phone and WhatsApp). This transformed my experience - having someone I could turn to for support, information, and a listening ear was just what I needed to feel empowered and able to fight for the birth I wanted. But most importantly because sadly I still faced the maternity system treadmill and coercion.

I am pleased to say that my second birth was the complete opposite of my first - my second baby arrived in a beautiful calm water birth, which in light of it being May 2020 and the height of the first lockdown, was no mean feat!

Unsurprisingly, my recovery, breastfeeding and general fourth trimester was immeasurably better following a trauma-free birth.

Experiencing two such different births instilled me with a passion to help others avoid trauma and have the birth THEY want.

From home births to planned caesareans, what's important is that you feel informed, listened to and supported.

I am also training to become a breastfeeding counsellor, so that I can help others who are navigating the whirlwind that is feeding a newborn.

Training and courses that I’ve undertaken are:

Breastfeeding Peer Supporter, ABM, January 2024
Birth Biomechanics, Shellie Poulter, September 2023
Doula Training, The Riot Birth Network, June 2022
Introduction to Counselling Skills (Level 2), Sheffield City College, 2019

I hold a full enhanced DBS, and have full indemnity insurance.

Please note, I am not a trained medical professional or midwife.
